There was panic in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital as gunmen suspected to be armed robbers shot lifeless a lady.
The incident which has raised issues amongst residents of the state’s capital occured alongside NTA Highway, Ado Ekiti round 7 am on Saturday.
The girl, whose identification is just not but ascertained, LEADERSHIP gathered, was killed by suspected armed robbers working on bike.
A supply near the realm mentioned, “The gunmen who had been driving on bike made try to forcefully dispossess the girl of her bag whereas standing by the highway.
“The girl was mentioned to have resisted the try and refused to give up the her bag and others valuables to them.
“She was shot by her assailants who fled the scene instantly”.
Individuals round scampered to security whereas enterprise house owners and merchants hurriedly closed their retailers.
Recall that no fewer than 4 individuals had been killed in Ado Ekiti about two weeks in the past with the State Police Command making some arrest in connections with heinous crimes.
Confirming the incident, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu mentioned the killing was extra of a theft incident.
He disclosed that the sum of forty thousand, 2 hundred and eighty naira (N40,280) was discovered within the bag of the deceased girl.
Abutu mentioned her physique has been deposited within the morgue and the police have launched manhunt for the perpetrators.
