Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 62-year-old man, Tahir Ahmed, for allegedly mass-producing faux naira notes in Bauchi.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Ahmed was arrested in possession of the alleged counterfeit naira notes amounting to over N200,000.
The suspect was arrested by the police after he reportedly used ritual to show plain paper into new N1,000 notes whereas on board a business car from Tilden-Fulani to Bauchi.

Spokesperson of Command, SP Ahmed Wakil whereas confirming the arrest to reporters in a press release on Tuesday, stated, āUpon reaching Bauchi metropolis, round Yandoka Highway, a Good Samaritan reported to a police station about Ahmedās methods.ā
Wakil stated the suspect reportedly admitted to the offence, including that investigations had been ongoing to uncover additional particulars.
The police spokesman additional stated that the Command had requested the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) to conduct a forensic evaluation on the notes to find out their authenticity.
