The Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has cautioned farmers in opposition to encroachment into grazing reserves and cattle routes in Adamawa State.

The command’s public relations officer, DSC Nyako Hamidu Baba, urged farmers to remain away from recognized authorities grazing reserves and cattle routes within the state.

Baba mentioned the directive was according to the command’s ongoing efforts to take care of concord and forestall conflicts between farmers and herders.

He mentioned Commandant Ibrahim Mainasara advocated adherence to the rules as essential for sustaining the peaceable coexistence and understanding amongst all stakeholders.

“It’s crucial for farmers to respect designated grazing areas and cattle routes to keep away from any pointless friction with herders.

“Our purpose is to make sure that each communities can perform their actions with out interference. The NSCDC will proceed to construct on its achievements in offering security and safety to each farmers and herders.

In partnership with the Division of Livestock and Aquaculture underneath the Ministry of Agriculture, the corps has made vital strides in mitigating the actions of cattle rustling, which has been a persistent concern within the area.

“By means of our collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, we now have efficiently diminished incidents of cattle rustling, thereby fostering belief and cooperation between the farming and herding communities,” he mentioned.
