A 42-year-old human trafficking suspect recognized as Juliet Ukhurebor has confessed to creating her victims swear an oath earlier than travelling overseas to discourage them from disobeying her directions.
Ukhurebor, who was arrested by officers of Edo State Taskforce on Human Trafficking alongside one Pleasure Osawe, made the confession earlier than journalists in Benin Metropolis on Wednesday.
The suspect stated, “I acted on the directions of my India-based-daughter who requested a feminine nanny from Nigeria.
“My daughter requested them to take oath as a result of she spent cash on the would-be nannies journey paperwork, in order that they might not get there and abscond, or refuse to pay her the bills she incurred on their paperwork.”
Secretary of the taskforce, Mrs. Pauline Irusota stated the suspects had been apprehended following a petition by a 25-year-old Rita Godwin.
