The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has apprehended 9 people suspected to be concerned in web fraud in Abuja.
The suspects have been arrested on Monday within the Wuye space of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following an intelligence-led operation by the Fee’s Abuja Zonal Directorate.
An EFCC assertion posted on Tuesday by way of its official X deal with mentioned, “Operatives of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Directorate, have arrested 9 suspected web fraudsters.
“They have been arrested on Monday, 29 July 2024, at Wuye axis of Abuja following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related fraud.”
The assertion listed objects recovered from the suspects to incorporate 19 telephones, one automotive, 4 laptops and one iPad.
The Fee additional indicated its intention to pursue authorized motion towards the suspects, stating that, “The suspects will probably be charged to courtroom as quickly as investigations are concluded.”
