A Delta State Excessive Courtroom sitting at Asaba has sentenced two individuals to loss of life for armed theft and homicide.

The 2 defendants, Abdulrasheed Mohammed (m) and Aliyu Bawa (m), had been alleged to have dedicated the offences on twenty ninth Might, 2020 at Oni Edozien Avenue, Off Ezenei Avenue, Asaba.

The prosecution led by Mrs. Esther Azomani of the State Ministry of Justice, via its witnesses, instructed the courtroom that on the fateful day, the 2 defendants alongside two others now at giant, whereas driving in a tricycle (Keke) robbed one Ifeanyi Okafor of his cell phone handsets.

Within the strategy of the armed theft, the sufferer was stabbed on his chest, and he later died.

The first and 2nd Defendants then made away with the telephones, which they later offered to the third Defendant, one Daniel Joseph for N6,000.

The police tracked the telephones to the third defendant, who led them to arrest the first and 2nd defendants.

The courtroom presided over by Justice Onome Marshall-Umukoro in his judgement, held that the prosecution proved the case towards the first and 2nd defendants past cheap doubt.

The courtroom discovered them responsible of the offences as charged and convicted them accordingly.

The Courtroom held that the case towards the third defendant was not proved past cheap doubt.

He was accordingly discharged and acquitted of the offence of receiving robbed property.
