Lagos State Police Command rescues a trafficked two-month-old child boy from a pair, Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, through the little one’s naming ceremony.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, acknowledged on Saturday that the couple had paid N2,350,000 to amass the newborn from suspected little one trafficker Loretta Nelson. Nelson had bought the newborn from a pastor, Peter Udoh, for N1,450,000.
Hundeyin defined that Udoh had initially purchased the newborn for N500,000 from one other suspected little one trafficker, Gloria Sunday, who allegedly stole the newborn on July 11, 2024. The theft prompted the newborn’s mom to report the incident to the police.
Following the report, the police took swift motion, arresting Sunday, who then led them to the opposite suspects concerned within the crime, with detectives from the Oko Oba Division finishing up the arrests.
Hundeyin mentioned, “Detectives swung into motion, resulting in the arrest of Gloria Sunday, who confessed throughout interrogation to promoting the newborn for N500,000 to Pastor Peter Udoh.
“Pastor Udoh, who was subsequently arrested in Ikene City, Ogun State, admitted to reselling the kid for N1,450,000 to Loretta Nelson, who was then apprehended in Festac City, Lagos.”
Nelson confessed to promoting the newborn for N2,350,000 to Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, who have been apprehended through the naming ceremony of the stolen little one.
Hundeyin famous that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects might be arraigned in court docket following the investigation.
