The Bauchi State Unbiased Electoral Fee (BASIEC) has shifted the date for the native authorities chairmanship and councillorship elections to August 17.
Bauchi performed native authorities elections in October 2020 when the PDP gained all chairmen and councillorship seats.
Since then, all of the 20 native authorities chairmen and deputies have been appointed as caretaker committee chairmen. At present, all of the chairmen and deputies had been appointed by Governor Bala Mohammed.
Chairman of BASIEC, Ahmed Makaman in a press release in Bauchi mentioned the plan to carry the elections on August 10 couldn’t be sustained as a consequence of some causes which he didn’t specify.
He mentioned the elections had been adjusted to happen August 17.
Makama urged political events and different stakeholders to notice the brand new adjustment and tidy inside mechanisms for the brand new date.
