The Nationwide Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested Jeremiah Stephen, 24. Stephen specialises in making pretend cash transfers upon buying items to unsuspected victims or withdrawing from POS machines.
The suspect, arrested within the Michika native authorities space of the state, was alleged to have swindled N500,000.00 from clients.
Throughout an interrogation by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC State Command DSC Amidu Nyako, the suspect confessed to swindling individuals amounting to 5 hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) in Michika and Yola metropolis.
In response to the suspect, he was pressured into the crime on account of his medical situation and pledged to not return to the act once more and suggested those that are nursing to be concerned within the act to desist as dishonest doesn’t pay.
Reacting, PRO NSCDC State Command, DSC Amidu Nyako, whereas commending the efforts of the Michika Divisional Officer of the Corps, DSC Hajara Usman, for apprehending the suspect, known as on businessmen and POS operators to cross-check any switch of cash into their account earlier than releasing items and make any buyer cost.
He stated the State Commandant of the Corps, Ibrahim Mainasara, has directed an intensive investigation to prosecute the suspect.
