The Home of Representatives has urged the Income Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Fee (RMAFC) to withhold allocations from the Federation Account to native authorities areas being run with out elected officers however caretaker committees.
The decision adopted the adoption of a movement of Pressing Public Significance sponsored by Hon. Ademorin Kuye (APC, Lagos) and Jonathan Gaza Gbewfi (SDP, Nasarawa) at plenary on Tuesday.
Transferring the movement, Kuye expressed concern that the dissolution of democratically elected council officers instantly contravenes Part 7 of the Nigerian Structure, the Supreme Court docket pronouncement on such issues and a deliberate affront on democracy.
